Collection: 1964 Baseball Singles
1964 Topps is a 587-card set released in seven series during the course of the 1964 baseball season. The design is known for the giant block lettering on the front, and bright orange backs with a white box that when rubbed down with a coin displays the answer to a trivia question. (Obviously, cards that were rubbed down are no longer in Mint condition.)
The set was issued in seven series and sub-divided as such.
Series One: Cards 1-109
Series Two: Cards 110-196
Series Three: Cards 197-283
Series Four: Cards 284-370
Series Five: Cards 371-446
Series Six: Cards 447-522
Series Seven: Cards 523-587
Cards from the first four series are rather easy to find compared to Series Five & Six. Series Seven cards are the scarcest; however, these "high-numbers" aren't as difficult to find as high-numbered from other Topps sets of the era.
Due to the lack of any major error cards, an increase in production (especially in the later series), and only one notable rookie (Phil Niekro), 1964 Topps is a bit more affordable to collect than other Topps sets of the era.
